FinFolio Can Help with SEC Form 13F

Paperwork + Regulations = Headache. As part of being an independent advisor or firm, completing & filing forms is a regular occurrence. It also isn't fun or productive.

FinFolio can help with Form 13F. Please do not ask us legal questions about the regulation. We can provide the data in a form that can be readily uploaded to the SEC. To help our clients, we have built out a set of tools to automate the process.
As stated in the Form 13F instructions (https://www.sec.gov/pdf/form13f.pdf), a firm with over $100MM under management is required to file within 45 days after the end of the quarter. The data file needs to be in a specific format to upload to the SEC. FinFolio can help with the file generation.

The file format is detailed in the EDGAR XML Technical Specification. Our tools can help take your FinFolio data & format it to meet the EDGAR XML spec.

To request help in generating the file, please reach out to the Support team via support@finfolio.com. It is a two step process:

  1. Review & Approve. Once requested, the list of securities & units is placed into a spreadsheet for the client firm to review.
  2. Upload XML. After reviewed & signed off, the XML file is generated for the client firm. It will be ready for the client firm to upload to the EDGAR portal.
